Holiday Crafts

Halloween

I had teen volunteers make up a bunch of these for "The Spooky Box".
  They were super cute!

Halloween Paper Plate Crafts

Dia de los Muertos

We hired a woman to do a Spanish Dia storytime, but I provided a craft for after.  These are pretty fancy, but the kids got to color and glue stuff to blank skull print outs to make a mask.

Holiday Storytime

These were very cute and the kids (parents) were pretty creative.  Overall, there was a lot of glitter!
Our star garlands were white, blue, and yellow and covered in glitter glue.  This worked well because the kids went crazy with the glue, glitter, and the hole punch and the parents tied the stars to colored yarn.

Kids love to use scissors!  Of course, their snowflakes were much more creative than my example here.

I had teen volunteers make these to give to the kids who came to the storytime.  Our reindeer had different colored antlers and eyes and some were given mustaches and crazy shaped antlers too.  The eyes and noses, even though glued on, did not stay put very well.

Thanksgiving

I made little trees from a branches and had kids write what they were thankful for on die-cuts.

Easter

Bunny cut-outs: Kids color and glue puff ball to tail.
Egg cut-outs: Kids cut out and color.

Then they can either keep their craft, or glue it to the great painted background made by a couple of teen volunteers.

Halloween 2013

The Spider Head Bands turned out very cute!  The kids were very creative.

I had teen volunteers make these for all the kids who came to the storytime.

We used just the center part of the plate for our ghosts.
